1. Overview

This page explains how to request deletion of your SOUR account and the data associated with it. SOUR is a mobile application operated by FOT Labs as part of the SOURems Event Management System.

You may delete your account at any time. The process below describes how to initiate the deletion, which categories of data are removed, and which categories we are required to retain for legal or accounting purposes.

2. How to Delete Your Account

Option A: Delete in the SOUR mobile app

  1. Open the SOUR app and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Your account is scheduled for deletion immediately after you confirm. Most personal data is removed within 7 days.

Option B: Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email us from the email address registered to your account:

  • Email: support@fotlabs.xyz
  • Subject: Account Deletion Request
  • Include: the email address or phone number used to register, and a short statement confirming that you wish to delete your account.

We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days. We may contact you to confirm the request before proceeding.

3. Data That Will Be Deleted

When your account deletion is processed, the following data will be permanently removed from our active systems:

  • Your profile details (name, email, phone number, profile photo)
  • Your business card information
  • Your saved contacts and connection history
  • Your event tickets and registration records associated with your account
  • Your app preferences and settings
  • Your push-notification tokens and device identifiers linked to your account

4. Data That May Be Retained

Some records must be retained after account deletion in order to comply with applicable law, prevent fraud, or maintain the integrity of events you attended. These include:

  • Transaction and payment records — retained for up to 7 years to comply with accounting, tax, and anti-fraud obligations.
  • Support correspondence — retained for up to 2 years for audit and service quality purposes.
  • Event attendance records held by Event Organisers — Organisers who ran events you attended may retain their own attendee lists independently. Please contact the Organiser directly for their retention policy.
  • Anonymised analytics — aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you may continue to be used to improve the platform.

Retained data is stored securely and is accessed only where required by law or to protect our legitimate interests.

5. Effect of Deletion

  • You will lose access to the SOUR app and any active tickets, saved contacts, and business cards held under your account.
  • Deletion cannot be undone. If you wish to use SOUR again, you will need to create a new account.
  • Tickets for events that have already taken place, and any payments you have made, will not be refunded as part of the deletion.
